ABOUT ME

As a designer and illustrator, my experience includes agency, in-house, and boutique studio workflows, as well as client/studio relationships as a contract freelancer and independent design practice. I’ve worked in print (commercial and editorial), digital, environmental, and exhibit design.

TYPE DESIGN:
I designed my first typeface in 2016 through the intensive Carl Dair Typography Workshops at Coach House Books in association with GDC and led by Kevin King of CanadaType. Since then, I’ve continued honing my skills in type design through client work and personal projects, and in 2019 completed the TypeLab Summer Residency at SVA NYC. In my role at ERA Architects, I regularly consult on heritage letterforms and (re)create signage and inscriptions for the built environment.

DESIGN AS SOCIAL ACTION:
I've been an active proponent of the Society of Graphic Designers of Canada (GDC) since winning the 2011 National Scholarship Award, and I've been honoured to be featured several times in Applied Arts Magazine and the AA Design Awards. Currently a design mentor in Toronto and member of the Association of Registered Graphic Designers (RGD), Type Directors Club (TDC), and the Royal Heraldry Society of Canada (RHSC).
